You were sitting on a log away from Hershel's house while you observed the other group members. Your group was searching for Sophia for days now and you weren't allowed to help them because “you were still too weak”. Daryl found you after you ran away from your camp which has been attacked by dozens of Walkers. You could barely get away unnoticed because they were busy eating your friends and family. You sighed. They gladly accepted you into their group and you wanted to thank them by helping.
It started to get dark and only Shane and Rick came back.
“Is Daryl still not back?” Rick asked the others after you gathered near the house.
Lori shook her head. “We should go and look for him.” You said looking straight into Rick's eyes. “Daryl can take care of himself. He will probably be back in a few minutes.” He responded. But somehow you had a very bad feeling. You decided to wait for just a few more minutes.
But even after twenty minutes he wasn't back. You slowly went into the direction in which Daryl left earlier after picking up a knife from Hershel's house. You made sure no one saw you leaving because they would just try to hold you back.
You got deeper into the forest and there was still no sight of the man with the crossbow. Until you saw what seemed to be a little lake, but it didn't seem that deep. You looked at it while trying to not fall down the slope. Then you saw him. Lying in the water. You weren't sure if he was still alive. You rushed towards him in an instant after carefully climbing down the slope. “Oh my god... Daryl?” You said quietly. You felt his pulse and fortunately he was still alive, but he was unconscious. You noticed the bolt that was stuck in his side but you didn't dare to pull it out yourself. The plan was to bring him to Hershel as soon as possible. But the first thing you had to do was to look for his crossbow. You picked up a stick and searched for it in the water and eventually found it. You pulled Daryl up and rested his arm around your shoulder so you could carry him. You were saving Daryl Dixon, the guy who did everything on his own. When you were near some sort of sandbar you heard him coughing. He woke up and freed himself from your grip in a sudden. He looked at you with a mixture of mild shock and confusion in his eyes. You smiled faintly at him. You could see he was in pain. “You were lying in the water. I was worried when you didn't came back to the farm so I went to look for you.” You told him while looking at the ground. There was a little moment of silence. “Uh... thank you” he said awkwardly. “Are you ok? I'm gonna bring you to Hershel as soon as possible. Come on, you can rest your arm around my neck. I'll help you.” You asked him now looking directly into his with pain filled eyes. The redneck looked like he wanted to object but you held up a hand. “This was an order. I won't discuss this.” You said in a teasing way.
The two of you arrived at the farm, where people just started to notice your absence. When the rest of the group noticed you two they walked towards you. Rick gave you a serious look and he and Shane now carried Daryl into Hershel's house.
After Daryl got patched up you went into his room with some food and something to drink. You sat down on the ground next to the bed he was lying on. He was asleep and Hershel said he was going to be fine. A smile appeared on your face while watching him sleep. While everyone was sure that Sophia was dead he still believed to find her alive. You got up and left the room, but before you could do so he grabbed your arm. “Don't go.” You looked at him. “Thank you, (y/n). Without you I might be dead.” You smiled and wanted to say something but he pulled you closer and kissed you on your lips. After a little moment of silence you finally said “I had to return the favour” with a smile. And in this moment the badass redneck smiled back at you and you felt your heart beat against your chest.

Daryl Dixon X Reader
You were trapped in the prison somewhere, cold and almost unconscious. You barely had the energy to move.
You had been able to save yourself from a pack of hungry Walkers before. You just managed to shut yourself in a small room so Walkers couldn't get to you.
But now, no-one could.
You had tried to get out before, but you were still too weak to open the door, even though it was fairly easy to shut yourself in.
For a while, you tried calling out the names that appeared in your head, but there was only one name which kept flickering on and off like a light.
Daryl.
For some reason it was the only name you yelled. You desperately wanted hi

How? (Daryl x Reader)
Best friends. That's all it was supposed to be. That's all it was.
That's what you kept telling yourself, anyway. Ever since the group took you in after Atlanta was overrun, you were immediately attached to Daryl. It was just... some sort of weird connection. Voodoo shit was in the air. You both knew how to shoot, and just from looking at him, you knew he had a similar past to yours.
You conversed with him from time-to-time, getting closer despite his brother, Merle, trying to 'look out' for him. Eventually, your acquaintanceship with Daryl grew into friendship, and you never really talked to anyone else. Most people left you alone, as the

Too Slow (Newt X Reader)
Author's Note: Not an alternate universe, but I did change some canon stuff to make the story fit. Not like a lot of stuff, but Alby doesn't get stuck in the maze with Minho and Thomas, and Teresa hasn't arrived at the Glade yet.
No, no, no. You thought, running desperately. You had gotten turned around in the maze (how stupid was that; you had been a runner for a year and a half and now you were going to die in the shuckin' thing), and now you didn't think you were going to make it to the doors before they shut.
__y/n__, you suck, You mentally scolded yourself. C'mon, run just a little harder and you'll make it!
You nearly sobbed in relie
